Events for your calender!

Triangle Brewing Company has a plethora of upcoming events in the near future. So make sure you put these in your calender. Friday, June 6, 2008, is the first Friday of the month of June, so we'll be tapping a cask at the Sawmill Taproom in Raleigh. For those that haven't caught on, the first Friday of every month we celebrate at the Sawmill Taproom with a First Friday Firkin. I am sure your thinking, "So it's not just a clever name!". That's right, these Triangle guys are trixy. ...OK, back to the cask. It is typically tapped at 4:00pm to make sure it is ready for happy hour. The cask usually lasts the evening and the Bloke and I typically have a beer or too many before heading home. So if your in the neighborhood, stop by and have a pint.

Wed. June 11, We'll be heading into Chapel Hill to celebrate the beautiful weather and wonderful patio at the Town Hall Grill in Southern Village. This will be our first cask at the Grill and look forward to a wonderful evening. It's been great speaking with Ozzie and his crew as we have planned this event. I've put together a special cask of our Belgian-style White Ale for this event. We'll be tapping the cask at 5:00pm and hopefully it will last long enough for everyone to get a pint. In all seriousness, I don't think this keg will last too late into the evening, so come by as soon as you can. Perhaps Andy and I will put together some fun games and prizes to get the crowd going.

Please make sure you consult the dates and times for our June Tours. The schedule will be a little different than our current every other week. This is happening cause we will be closed on Saturday June 7 for the Buffett concert.

Later on in the month of June, Triangle Brewing will be releasing our Belgian-Style Golden Ale in 22oz bottles. This beer has been bottle conditioned and specially hand filled to celebrate our upcoming one year anniversary. The Golden is the first of our two releases, with the Imperial Amber set for a release later this summer.

Last but not least, keep checking back for information about our ONE YEAR BIRTHDAY PARTY celebration. We are currently shooting for July 12 and strongly considering a Pub Crawl and cask blowout at the final destination of the crawl. More info to follow. Cheers

Da Bloke and Da Bride

It's happy times at Triangle Brewing Company as Andy da Bloke exchanged vows with Nichole da Bride. The ceremony was closed to the public and paparazzi, but I was able to infiltrate the nuptial ball on May 17, 2008. The ball was attended by the grandest people. As we know, some balls are held for charity and some for fancy dress, but this time they were held for pleasure so it's the ball that I like best. Luckily, Friar Tom was present to bless the ceremonial "Unity Cask". Poetic as ever, Friar Tom presented a worthy benediction, "Eavenlyhay Atherfay, essblay isthay askcay andway allway owhay inkdray itway. Amenway." Following the blessing, da Bride and da Bloke tapped dat Cask!!

The Unity Cask is a long standing tradition that dates far back to May 17, 2008. The faucet symbolizes love and the mallet allegiance and together da Bloke and da Bride demonstrated the fluidity of their ever lasting love together. (okay, I admit that one might be a little corny!) Take a look at some of the celebrity photos below.

Wedding Announcements

Miller—Kerner

Nichole “da Bride” Kerner and Andy “da Bloke” Miller were married on an undisclosed spring day at the gazebo on Duke’s Campus.

Da Bride is the daughter of her parents and the gleam in their eye. The bridegroom is the son of his often vexed mother and father, who are extremely tolerant of him and his friend/business partner. Da Bride escorted herself into the gazebo since he the groom was already there and they didn’t invite anyone to attend!!!

Da Bride is a graduate of Ohio State and is employed at Duke University (Go HEELS)! The bridegroom is a graduate of ECU, which he reports as the best 7 years of his life. He is currently employed as a co-brewery owner and sales manager of Triangle Brewing Company, Durham, N.C.

Kegs, Tour & Memorial Day

Can you believe that this weekend is already Memorial Day Weekend??!! Time for party's, cookouts, and beer! As of today, the weather channel expects the weekend to be sunny and warm with only a slight chance of rain. (Who knows what tomorrow's forecast will call for!) Hopefully, people have started to think about their plans for the weekend. What better of a way to enjoy the weekend or special event than by sharing your favorite beer from Triangle Brewing Co. Triangle Brewing Company will be hosting a tour on Saturday May 24. As always, the gates will open around 1:00pm with the tour starting at 1:25. Come try samples of our Belgian-style White Ale, (Our newest release). Keep reading for a more complete description of the White Ale. Everyone must be 21 years or older to attend the tour and all sales are cash only.

This is also a perfect time to pick up a keg or growlers for your weekend Memorial Day party. Kegs will be available for pickup following the tour or by arranging a special pick up time by calling Andy at 919.683.2337. If you are interested in a keg, please call asap to reserve your size and style. The sooner you call the easier it is for us to guarantee availability. The beer available at this time is the Xtra Pale Ale, Belgian-Style Golden Ale and our Belgian-Style White Ale.

Ok, for those who have continued reading and those who simply scrolled down here is our description of the White. The White Ale is our interpretation of a traditional Belgian wheat beer, Triangle White Ale is unique and truly refreshing. The style gets its name from the white, slightly cloudy appearance of this unfiltered wheat ale. Brewed with a generous amount of white wheat and our own special blend of spices, makes Triangle White Ale complex in flavor without being overpowering or cloying. Overall, it is a beer that is light, fruity and very drinkable during a hot summer day.

Sly Fox Goat Races!

Triangle Brewing Company made a little road trip this past weekend to show off Abby the Baby to the family up north. On our way back, we detoured to catch up with some friends from Yards Brewing Co. & Flying Fish Brewing Company and attend the Sly Fox Goat Races. Goat Races you say???!!! You betcha and what a great time!! Below is a little plug from Sly Fox.

JASPER RACES TO MAIBOCK CROWN IN LARGEST GOAT RACE EVER
"First time entrant Jasper won the seventh annual Bock Festival Goat Race at Sly Fox Brewhouse & Eatery by a nose over perennial challenger Entrekin on Sunday, May 4 before the largest crowd in festival history. The two goats finished in a dead heat in the championship run against the four winners of earlier heats. A record 42 goats were entered in the 2008 races.

The one-year old goat, owned by Chris & Alycia Eckerd of Skippack, was swamped by admirers as Jasper Maibock was tapped by brewmaster Brian O'Reilly and Chris Eckerd, who ran with his winning goat. The brewery's annual Maibock is named for the winning goat each year and the owner receives a $75 gift card good at Sly Fox Brewhouse & Eatery in Phoenixville and Sly Fox Brewery & Restaurant in Royersford.

O'Reilly, delighted with the turnout out (estimated at 2,900 people by the local daily, The Phoenix) and the participation, noted that the annual gathering is very much a family event and reminiscent of the classic German-style biergartens which were once a large part of the American beer scene."
